2. Cameron Todd Willingham


Willingham was a father of three who was charged with arson in a fire that killed his three daughters in 1991. Being that he was living in Texas at the time, justice was swift and harsh, even though there was very little evidence that the fire had been deliberately ignited. In fact, a report by fire investigators concluded that the fire was likely not arson, was sent to governor Rick Perry who refused to issue a stay of execution. Willingham was executed in 2004, and a review of his case after his death indicated that the fire was definitively not arson.
