Comic writer Mark Twain is considered one of the most influential American writers of all time. He once joked that when he died, he’d “go out with the Halley’s Comet” the next time it passed into the Earth’s orbit. And indeed, he did. When the Halley’s Comet was visible on April 20th, 1910, Mark Twain died of a heart attack the next day.
